The boys rocked up to get ruxley lane rocking again for an early kick off. Masking yawns, the boys were exuberant with a revitalised and strong team out.

With the prospect of chopping lambrini for a fine that nobody remembers after the game, everyone was buoyed to bring 3rd in the league twickenham down a peg.

Kick off and we were away. We came out firing to be honest. We very early on figured out that twickenham were a 1 trick pony and opted to “shove it up the jumper”. Imaginative I know…

A great take from jonny and 2 quick passes I found myself in acres of space to pop to Ethan, and we really got on the front foot, I reckon we had them rattled. Not far into the game we very quickly understood that having a weight advantage in a scrum makes a big difference. Cam really figured it out when we went back 5m and his hand got trod on, whining like an injured dog, debutant Harry Taylor came onto the pitch early in replacement.

Some point in the first half, I can’t remember, a glorious pass from mr parr saw Fred Lowe execute a lovely goose step and really put on the afterburners to fend the man and dot it down in the corner (he just jogged it in but nevertheless, it worked)

In the middle third of the game, we probably spent 90% of the time in our 22m. I won’t say much about the Ref as it’s cliché but realistically, he was garbage. Inconsistency in calls and us whinging and complaining, we found ourselves pinned back. A blanket yellow awarded to myself (of which the ref actually said after the game it was for our tackler who shall not be named, did not roll away). Twickenham took that 1-man advantage to go ahead and score 2 tries, how selfish of them.

The last 15 mins we decided to avoid a scrum and actually play, fluid and lovely rugby through Fred showed good carries from Harry Taylor, jonny parr and benny trimmer got us some great go forward ball

Coached Rosslyn’s George Trimmer, our new black shape worked a dream and I made a break off the unders line to pop it to Clesh for an easy finish.

I can’t remember much more from the day after an unfortunate injury. But realistically, scrum aside, can’t fault the effort from the boys. The amount of defending and “body on the line” stuff was just rugby rugby rugby. Proud of all of them and not far off a W. Keep turning up and let’s get a win on the Friday Night Lights next week against KCS Old Boys.
